DESCRIPTION

Explorer and international documentary photographer Daryl Hawk has spent the past 25 years adventuring alone in some of the most remote places on earth. Using his own compelling photographs as examples and his powerful storytelling, this dynamic presentation inspires his audiences to see the world with new eyes. Sharing the real life experiences and lessons he has learned on his amazing journeys on the back roads of the world, he entertains, educates, enlightens and motivates audiences to live life with great passion, desire, focus, vision, perseverance and to have the courage to take the necessary steps towards reaching their goals.Throughout the presentation, Hawk makes insightful connections between these lessons and the challenges encountered everyday in the business world that can be applied to any organization, company or school. For Hawk, these challenges have led to powerful experiences where positive thinking and determination taught him to take a visionary look at opportunities and move beyond their limits. Hawk has taken these same principles and applied them to his own business practices. For over 25 years he has run a successful full service photography studio, hosted and produced a television show, written numerous articles on travel and photography, and published 2 books.

“It’s the Journey that Counts” explores how each of us can define and develop the qualities of inner strength in which he calls “the adventurous heart”. The photographic journey starts at the top of the world in the Canadian Arctic, and continues throughout all of North America, Central, and South America, Patagonia, Antarctica, New Zealand and finally culminating in the hidden way Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Hawk brings his audiences along with him for an unforgettable visually stunning journey while providing a conceptual framework to turn their own vision into action and reach whatever goals they set for themselves.

OUR CLIENTS SAY IT ALL...

“On behalf of the Harvard Travellers Club I want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for your presentation of “Distant Journeys: Places Where Time Stands Still”. What a thoughtful and engaging presentation.

I’ve had so many members speak to me since the presentation saying things like, “wow that was just right”, or just superb, breathtaking photography; so many positive comments! I must say, at the outset, I was a little concerned about the number of images when we spoke and how this might work, you did a splendid job moving it along from beginning to end.

Your personal history intertwined in the story made it even more relevant for members and of course many recognized some of the images having travelled to those locations themselves.

I vey much appreciate your flexibility in rescheduling our evening due to the enormous snowstorm I am really glad we were all able to accommodate another date.

Thank you again, and we do hope that you will return for another presentation at some point in the future.”

“Daryl Hawk has been presenting at the AMC for almost 10 years. He has a large following that comes to see his shows and that has increased our audience numbers considerably. His audio visual presentations are always fresh and filled with extraordinary images that demonstrate his skill as a superb adventure photojournalist. Daryl really connects with the soul of nature, idigenous cultures, and farwaway places and conveys that spirit to audiences who can be heard ‘ooing’ and ‘ahhing’ throughout his performance. He passes on the message that life is precious in all forms and carries a message of hope, exuberance and life lessons to all who are lucky enough to be present. Your decision to have Daryl Hawk present to your group would indeed be a wise one!”
