Our tour begins with exploring romantic Cartagena with our expert bilingual guide as we uncover the most important sites and many cultural activities in this beautiful city. We will then travel north and base ourselves in Santa Marta’s historic center which is filled with colorful markets and plazas. From there we explore the mountain town of Minca where we will experience cascading waterfalls and one of Columbia’s best organic coffee plantations after which we will absorb the stunning jungle atmosphere of Tayrona National Park which is a haven for nature lovers and offers spectacular beaches. Our final day is spent taking a boat to one of El Rosario’s famous islands where we will relax and enjoy the pool and beach. We end up back in Cartagena for a goodbye dinner.

Day 1: Cartagena arrival

A Private Vehicle will be waiting for you at Cartagena airport to bring you to the hotel.

Day 2: Cartagena tour

Spend the day walking around the historic center of Cartagena, visiting its attractions like the Castillo de San Felipe and Cerro de la Popa, and driving through the neighborhood of Getsemani.

Day 3: Santa Marta

Today you spend the morning driving from Cartagena to Santa Marta. Driving time is 4 to 5 hours.

In the afternoon you do tour of Santa Marta visiting its historic center, its attractions that include the Case de la Aduana—the first building build in America in 1231, and the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino—the place where our national hero died, and driving through Santa Marta’s bay and Taganga’s lookout.

Day 4: Minca

Today you travel to Minca, a small town 30 minutes from the city located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The town’s riers, mountains and waterfalls offers you a monttain setting by the sea.

You spend the day visiting a coffee farm and learning about the production process of coffee. You also visit to the natural swimming hole of Pozo Azul and Marinka waterfalls for a refreshing dip.

You spend the night back in Santa Marta.

Day 5: Tayrona National Park and Taganga

You spend the day exploring Tayrona National Park, one of the most visited national parks in the country. After travelling 45 minutes from Santa Marta you reach Canaveral from where you start the hike to Cabo San Juan. After hiking through the tropical forest for about an hour you arrive in Arrecifes, the Biggest beach in the park where the water is so roygh swimming is not allowed. You keep hiking for another 30 minutes and arrive in La Piscina, a calm beach suitable for swimming, After another 40 minutes of hiking you arrive in Cabo San Juan, you final destination in the park and another great beach for swimming and relaxing, After spending some time enjoying the beach and taking pictures you take a boat to Taganga.

In Taganga you spend time taking pictures of the local fishermen and the sunset before traveling back to your hotel in Santa Marta.

Day 6: Travel from Santa Marta to Cartagena

Today you travel from Santa Marta to Cartagena. Travel time is 4-5 hours.

You have free time in Cartagena to explore the surroundings of the hotel or to visit some of the city’s attractions like the Aviario Nacional.

You spend the night in Cartagena.

Day 7: Rosario Islands Day Trip

You spend the day at one of EI Rosario Islands, relaxing and enjoying the pool and beach.

A driver picks you up at your hotel in Cartagena and brings you to the pier where you take a boat to Isla del Sol. The boat rode takes about an hour.

Isla del Sol is located in Isla Grande, the biggest island of EI Rosario Islands. From the hotel you can visit the Oceanario or go snorkeling for an additional fee.

In the early afternoon you travel back to Cartagena by boat and return to your hotel.

You spend the night in Cartagena.

Note: This is a shared tour with other people traveling to Isla del Sol.

Day 8: Cartagena departure

A private vehicle will bring you to the airport to catch your departure flight.
